Ten years is quite an achievement in an industry where reputation and longevity are highly valued assets, which is why Nova's 2016 caravan range, marking the manufacturer’s 10-year anniversary, deserves recognition.
It’s a statement of not only how far the company has come, but where it sits today and where it’s going. In this respect, Nova has led from the top in its new six-model range of touring and offroad caravans, with its latest Pride Platinum.
Since its initial release in 2011, the Pride Platinum has been Nova’s flagship and innovation leader and this latest model doesn’t fail to impress.
The 2016 Pride Platinum comes with a choice of sliding wall options and in the July issue of Caravan World (CW553) we review the Pride Platinum 21-17F, which has a huge, 4m-long offside slide-out.
While it isn’t the largest model in Nova’s 2016 range, the review 21-17F is the largest slide-out model that Nova has built to-date.
The 21-17F is also the first Nova caravan to be fitted with Al-Ko’s new Enduro Cross Country independent trailing arm coil spring suspension – a feature that is now standard on all Pride Platinums for its extra ground clearance and smoother ride.
PRIDE PLATINUM 21-7F FEATURES
The stylish 6.98m (22ft 11in) 21-17F tourer sits high off the ground on its 150x50mm galvanised Preston chassis and robust new Al-Ko suspension and is well suited to long-term touring. It has a 3099kg Tare and 3499kg ATM, giving it a 400kg payload and requiring a larger tow vehicle.
Outside, its combination of striking decals and lower black checkerplate give it a distinctive look and inside, it’s all class and creature comforts. The large slide-out moves both the transverse caravan-queen-size bed and adjacent two-seater lounge out together and increases interior space dramatically.
The 21-17F features a new layout, based on customer requests for more entertaining and seating space, and comes with a nearside L-shaped lounge and dinette as well as the small two-seater in the slide-out.
In the bed area, a large TV rises out of a cabinet at the press of a switch and the rear full-width ensuite has a front-loading washing machine and separate shower cubicle.
For those who are looking for something a little different in the layout, there are six other standard layout alternatives to choose from in the latest Pride Platinum range.
