NEW SOUL CARAVANS SET TO HIT THE MARKET

Caravan World — 24 May 2016

Boasting what its manufacturers claim is “one of the largest slide-outs on the market”, Soul Caravans is sure to make a splash.

The vans are billed as ‘luxury studio apartments on wheels’ and are built using boatbuilding techniques, rather than traditional caravan construction methods.

Soul Caravans managing director Curtis Goldring said the vans will appeal most to caravanners looking to buy a second or subsequent van, rather than new buyers.

Goldring and fellow director Adam Skelton have a background in building luxury boats, which is where their vans' unique look and shape comes from. This means a moulded fibreglass construction, instead of the more common timber frame and aluminium cladding, with only two moulded parts, resulting in a lightweight, watertight, monocoque structure.

The Soul 22 van, which will debut at the show, features the extra-large slide-out which extends for about two-thirds of van’s 6.5m body length, adding about 20 per cent more floor space inside. A 50in LCD TV, airbag suspension, and tablet-controlled lighting and sound are some of the included creature comforts.
