TOP TOURIST PARKS APPOINTS NEW CHAIRMAN

Caravan World — 12 November 2015

Richard Emerson and David McIvor will lead the board, which has recently rebranded its 200 parks as Top Parks, until its elections are held at its next Annual General Meeting in October 2016.

Both men paid tribute to Mr Davis who had been chairman of the board since 2011 and oversaw the rebranding of the group.

“Richard was a giant of the tourism industry who did a fantastic job in his role as chairman. We’re all shocked and saddened by his passing,” Mr Emerson said.

Mr McIvor said Mr Davis had loved the tourism industry.

“While it’s a difficult time, as a board, we will honour Richard’s legacy by continuing to ensure stability and continuity for our members and rolling out the vision Richard helped shape,” he said.

Top Tourist Parks chief executive Stuart Livingstone said the new chairmen brought decades of industry experience to the role.

Mr Emerson and his wife Kathryn have owned the South West Rocks Tourist Park in New South for 15 years ago and joined Top Tourist Parks’ board in 2012.

Mr McIvor started working in the industry 17 years ago, running the El Dorado Top Tourist Park in Victoria, with his wife, Aileen. Their son, Michael, has joined the family business which has expanded to include the Broken Hill Tourist Park and a motel in Broken Hill.
