GPS snaps road traps

Caravan World — 7 February 2009

TomTom, manufacturer of GPS devices, has launched an alert service that provides twice weekly updates to safety camera trap locations Australia-wide.

Purchased as an annual subscription service, the TomTom Safety Camera database can be downloaded on to and activated with any TomTom GPS device via TomTom HOME, TomTom’s free desktop application. Between map updates, the service informs motorists about speed and red light camera locations, to encourage driver safety and minimise fines.

A one year subscription for the TomTom Australia safety camera database is now available for $49.95 at TomTom HOME. For more information, visit www.tomtom.com.

For more information about GPS devices, read Andrew Harris’ GPS show down in issue #463 of Caravan World magazine, out February 18.
