2014 Review: Adria Adora 612DL

Malcolm Street — 6 August 2014

Adria caravans are made in Slovenia and like many European vans, the chassis is quite different from the normal Australian variety. It is built by ALKO though, and Adria have been using these chassis since 2008. One of the great features of European vans is the big window at the front and large sky view hatch above the lounge and dinette so you can relax and enjoy the view outside, whatever the weather.

Internal layout

Inside the van there is a simple yet effective layout. There's a lounge area, kitchen, two single beds and a full width bathroom. The kitchen is fairly conventional; it has a three burner cooktop, a full oven and a stainless steel sink. Another highlight of this van is the large club style lounge, which can sit four people comfortably and can be made up into a double bed if you need it.

Joining the kitchen bench is a 190 litre fridge, with a microwave oven above while opposite is a large cupboard area with plenty of space to store clothing. In the rear there’s the full width bathroom, including a large shower cubicle, a cassette toilette and a nice vanity cabinet.

The verdict

Not everyone is going to like the single beds in a layout like this but they do offer some practical advantages. And the van can easily sleep four people, if required.

With a tare weigh of 1650kg, this van is ideal for a large number of tow vehicles. It's certainly a very comfortable living space for two people and priced at $62,000 making it a very nice package indeed.
