On location for Caravan World’s Touring Destination of the Year 2010, staff journalist Rachael Sutton was surprised by the quality of Kangaroo Island’s dirt roads.
"Our Mercedes GL series 4WD and Kimberley Kamper hire rig handled the dirt roads with confidence; in fact, many of KI’s dirt roads are better than a lot of bitumen roads we’ve seen," Rachael said.
Apparently, the dirt roads are regularly graded, but locals say to take care after frequent rain.
