NEWS: GREY NOMADS SHAPE RV WEBTOOL

Caravan World — 11 August 2009

Jayco is inviting RV travellers to help shape its new travel blog service, peoplegoingplaces.com

The site, which went live in late July, lets you create an itinerary or “trip”, upload your photos and make comments about each of your favourite destinations as you go.

The site helps you plan your own trip by letting you search other travellers’ “trips” for your preferred destination, by keyword search or by clicking on the interactive map.

You can meet fellow travellers and ask them to join your “network”, or extend an invitation to your existing family and friends by entering in the email. This is a great idea, as it lets you retain control over who sees each of your itineraries: trips can be available for everyone to see, available only to friends or kept hidden for your own planning purposes.

On first inspection, caravanworld.com.au found peoplegoingplaces.com (designed specifically for road travellers) to be much easier to use than Facebook and MySpace and will be paying close attention to the service as it develops more.
