With a 38kg dry weight, built-in wheels, two fixed handles and a folding handle, the new EU30iu Handy is the lightest and most portable 3000W generator (2600W rated) that Honda has ever made.
Its high-speed, multi-point alternator is integrated into the engine itself, reducing the overall weight and size by 25-50 per cent compared to similarly classed conventional models.
Meanwhile an Eco-throttle adjusts the engine speed to meet the load demand, which saves on fuel so you get up to seven hours’ run time on a full tank of ULP. It also keeps noise levels down – Honda claims it’s the quietest generator in its market segment, producing 56-65dB.
A microcomputer-controlled sinewave inverter caters for frequency-sensitive electrical equipment such as computers.
It also supplies 12V DC at 8A.
The $2999 Handy can be connected in parallel through a built-in connection port so that you can link two EU30iu Handy generators to double the output to 6000W maximum (5200W rated).
