Denyse and I spent a night at the free "Comfort Stop" at Home Hill, about 300km north of Mackay, Qld. The place was nearly full by 5pm with around 20 caravans and motorhomes and about 10 campervans. I took a walk around and each group had their own "happy Hour" in full swing.
The local town has provided marvellous facilities with a camp kitchen including free barbecues, washing-up basins and an undercover eating area, hot showers, clean toilets and disabled facilities. We hope travellers purchase something in the town to support them for providing these free facilities for us. - Tony Allsop
