Crowd numbers were up during the first day of the 2009 National 4x4, Off-Road, Fishing and Outdoors Expo, which opened at its new venue, the Melbourne Showgrounds, at 10am today.
A near-record number of day-one visitors perused the latest in 4WDs and accessories, boats, fishing, camping gear, and destinations at the outdoor adventure show, which will conclude on Sunday September 6, at 5pm.
Today’s proceedings included the official launch of the new VRFish website by The Minister for Fisheries, Joe Helper MP. The government initiative will engage with the Victorian recreational fishing community in an effort to better serve the community's needs.
Tomorrow's activities will include monster truck, wheelie Jeep and freestyle motocross demonstrations at 11am, 1.30pm, 4.00pm and 6.30pm, and stadium enduro X racing at 5.00pm.
The National 4x4, Off-Road, Fishing and Outdoors Expo will be open from 9am to 7pm tomorrow, and from 9am to 5pm on Sunday. Tickets cost $16 and will be available from the gate. For more information visit, www.4x4show.com.au
